After the Cincinnati Open organizers posted a few photos of Novak Djokovic from when he blew a kiss in front of a spectator, the Serbian thanked them in a joking manner for picking photos that make him look like he was drunk.
“Haha. Thanks for posting photos on which I look like I was drunk on the court,” Djokovic commented. Scroll right below to see the photos.
Djokovic also revealed that he did not blow the kiss to the spectator but to Hubert Hurkacz, whose picture was right in front of him.
The moment happened during Djokovic’s match against Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina.
Djokovic is happy to be back in Cincinnati
Despite the “drunk” photos, Novak Djokovic is happy to be back in Cincinnati for the first time since 2019.”Time flies.Four years seems like it was yesterday.
So it’s definitely nice to be back. I’ve had some really nice memories from this tournament. Winning it in 2018 obviously is a highlight for me, because it was the only Masters I hadn’t won for years.I think I lost four or five finals mostly to Roger [Federer].But I played well in the past and was really glad to have a chance to come back to the States.
It’s been two years. I missed it. Some of the biggest tournaments in our sport are played on American soil. I’m just excited to play some tennis,” Djokovic said.Djokovic is now in the semifinals of the tournament, where he’ll meet Alexander Zverev.
Until now, the Serbian crushed every opponent he had to face, namely Alejandro Davidovich-Fokina, Gael Monfils, and Taylor Fritz.
